Will the Low Side Rail fit my bed?
Only if you have an iCare homecare bed. It slips into a socket on the iCare bed frame, so it won't attach to a standard divan, slat base or another brand of hospital bed. Send us a photo of your frame if you're not sure.
Should I choose the Low or the High Side Rail?
The Low Side Rail is easier for a carer to reach over and feels less enclosing. The High Side Rail is taller with four bars and elevated handholds, which suits someone who moves about more in bed or needs to pull up higher.
Will it stop someone falling out of bed?
It gives a low edge that may help reduce the risk of accidentally rolling out, but it isn't a full-length barrier and shouldn't be relied on as one. Where falls are a real concern, ask an occupational therapist to assess — a Full Length Side Rail may be the right answer.
Is it sold as a pair?
No, individually. Order two if you want one on each side.
Can I get a cover for it?
Yes — there's a padded cover made specifically for the Low Side Rail. Mesh and fabric slip versions exist too; ask us for current pricing on those.
