We publish every price — most retailers in this category make you ring for a quote. Beds are made to order, and delivery is quoted for your region before dispatch.

Electric bed questions, answered
Can I see an electric bed before I buy?
Yes, two ways. Book a free video call and we will walk you around the bed live from our showroom, running it through its height range and answering questions as you think of them. Or visit our Putaruru showroom in person, which is open by appointment - we have the iCare IC333 and Cubro Caro beds set up there, along with lift chairs including the Goldfern range, Monarch and VMotion chairs.
Which mattress fits my electric bed?
Match the brand. iCare mattresses come in iCare bed sizes such as Long Single and King Single, and suit the IC333 and IC777. Cubro mattresses come in Cubro sizes such as Single and Super Single, and suit the Caro and Casero beds. Also check the mattress depth against your side rails - a taller mattress leaves less rail above the sleeping surface. The Cubro Caro takes mattresses up to 200mm deep.
What is a hi-lo bed and do I need one?
A hi-lo bed raises and lowers electrically. Low settings reduce the distance of a fall and let someone sit on the edge with their feet flat on the floor before standing. High settings save carer backs during transfers and personal care. If falls at night are a concern, or someone is providing hands-on care, a hi-lo bed is the single most useful piece of bedroom equipment you can buy.
How much does an electric hospital bed cost in NZ?
Homecare bed frames in New Zealand generally run from around $5,000 to $12,000 depending on size, functions and brand, with pressure-relieving mattresses adding roughly $1,000 to $2,500 on top. Most retailers quote base-only prices and add the mattress later, so compare the full package rather than the headline figure.
Can I get funding for an electric bed in New Zealand?
Possibly. Funded equipment is arranged through an occupational therapist, who assesses the need and submits a request to Enable New Zealand or Accessable depending on your region, or to ACC if the need arises from an injury. We are a registered vendor with Enable, ACC and MSD/Work and Income. Where funding covers a standard bed and you want a higher specification, the difference can usually be paid directly to the supplier as a top-up.
What is the difference between a homecare bed and an adjustable bed?
An adjustable bed from a bedding retailer raises the head and feet for comfort. A homecare or hi-lo bed also raises and lowers the whole bed height, usually offers Trendelenburg tilt, takes side rails and hoists, and is built to clinical standards with a much higher safe working load. If the bed is for care rather than comfort, you need a homecare bed.
Do you deliver and install electric beds?
Yes. Beds are made to order and delivery is quoted for your region before dispatch, so nothing is charged for freight at checkout. Beds arrive ready to be assembled in the room they will be used in, because a fully built homecare bed will not fit through a standard doorway. If you would rather not assemble it yourself, in-home delivery, assembly and packaging removal is available as an optional extra from $250 plus GST depending on your region.
How low do these beds go?
Our lowest bed drops to 184mm from the floor to the top of the mattress platform. Most homecare beds sit around 220mm to 250mm. A lower bed means a shorter fall, which is why floor height is worth comparing carefully if falls are the main concern.
