Buying a lift chair — common questions

How much does a lift chair cost in NZ?

Our lift chairs run from $1,795 for a single-motor 3-position chair up to $13,924 for a made-to-order clinical seating system. Most people land between $1,795 and $3,300. Current pricing is shown on every chair below.

Can I get WINZ or ACC funding for a lift chair?

Often, yes. Lift chairs are funded in the right circumstances by WINZ, ACC, Enable and Accessable, and we quote for all four. If an occupational therapist is involved, send us the reference number and we'll put a compliant quote together. See how funding works.

Do you deliver and install lift chairs?

Yes — NZ-wide delivery on every lift chair, with two-person home installation available, including assembly and packaging removal. Allow 7–10 working days to most North and South Island addresses, and an extra 2–3 days rural. Delivery is quoted for your address and confirmed before dispatch.

What weight can these chairs take?

Our range spans 113kg to 227kg. The Pride C1 Petite is rated to 113kg, most standard chairs sit at 147–160kg, and for larger builds the Heavy-Duty Electric takes 220kg and the Pride LC-358XL Bariatric 227kg. Choose a chair rated comfortably above the user's weight rather than right at it.

Can I try a lift chair before buying?

Yes. Most people start with a free, no-obligation video call — we show you the chairs live on screen and demonstrate the lift action, so you can see how a chair actually moves before you commit. And if you'd rather sit in one yourself, our Putaruru showroom in South Waikato is open by appointment. Either way, ring Kellie on 022 022 9956 to book a time.

Are lift chairs good for the elderly?
Yes. An electric lift chair gently tilts forward to help you stand with less strain on the knees, hips and back, and reclines for comfortable resting — one of the safest seating options for elderly or less-mobile users.

What's the difference between a single-motor, dual-motor and infinite-position lift chair?
A single-motor chair moves the backrest and footrest together. A dual-motor chair moves them independently for more positions. An infinite-position or zero-gravity chair reclines almost flat and lifts the legs above the heart for maximum pressure relief.
