How many do I need?

Slide sheets work as a pair — the low-friction surfaces slide against each other. Many people keep a second pair so there is always one available while the other is being washed.

Can it stay under the person all the time?

No. A slide sheet goes in for the move and comes straight back out. Left in place it can let someone slide down the bed unintentionally, and it interferes with the pressure redistribution of the mattress underneath.

Which size should I choose?

Medium suits repositioning the upper body or a smaller person. XL suits a larger person, or moving the whole body in one go. If you are mostly boosting someone up the bed, Medium usually does it; for full rolls and lateral transfers, XL gives more to work with.

Does it protect skin as well as the carer?

Yes, and that is half the point. Dragging creates shear — the sideways force that damages tissue beneath intact skin. Sliding rather than dragging removes most of it.

How do I wash them?

Machine washable. Avoid fabric softener — it coats the fabric and reduces the low-friction surface, which is the whole reason the sheet works.

Can I get funding for them?
