What is tilt-in-space and why does it matter?
Tilt-in-space tips the seat and back together while keeping the hip and knee angle fixed. That redistributes pressure without dragging the skin across the seat, which is what causes shear injuries.
How is this different from the Configura Comfort?
The Comfort is rated to 160kg with seat widths from 457 to 559mm. The Bariatric Tilt-in-Space takes up to 254kg with seat widths of 609, 660 or 711mm, and has heavy duty castors with directional lock.
Which seat width do I need?
Choose from 609, 660 or 711mm. Your occupational therapist will normally measure and specify this. If you are ordering without an OT, send us the seated hip width and we will advise.
How big is the chair overall?
Cubro does not publish overall dimensions for this model. If space or doorway width is a concern, contact us and we will confirm the measurements before you commit.
Can I use my own pressure cushion?
Yes. The chair comes with an integrated memory foam seat cushion that can be swapped for the Comfort air-cell cushion or another pressure care cushion. If your OT has prescribed a particular cushion, tell us and we will include it on the quote.
What happens in a power cut?
Battery backup is not fitted as standard. It is available as an optional accessory (code 3176), and Cubro advises the chair also has an emergency lowering function. Ask us to include the battery backup on your quote if you need it.
What accessories are available?
Lateral supports (code 3160), the bariatric 50mm seat depth adjustment kit (code 3175) and battery backup (code 3176). Each is quoted and itemised separately.
Is there a warranty?
Yes, 2 years through Cubro. Your Consumer Guarantees Act rights apply on top.
Can I get funding for this chair?
Funding depends on the person's circumstances and is usually arranged through an occupational therapist. We are a registered vendor with Enable New Zealand, ACC and MSD/Work and Income. Ask your OT to contact us and we will provide a formal written quote addressed to the funder, with the chair and each accessory itemised.
How is it delivered, and what does it cost?
Delivery and installation is $517.50 incl. GST to main centres in the North and South Island, shown as its own line on your quote. Cubro's own team delivers the chair, fits the backrest, tests it and installs it in your home. An extra cost may apply outside main centres and for rural addresses — we'll confirm it before dispatch. Allow up to 5 working days in main centres. We will confirm stock when you enquire.
Does Mobility Plus have a physical store?
No. We are online only, based in Putaruru, South Waikato, and we deliver nationwide.
