Padding Along the Whole Rail

Full-length rails have the most bar and the widest openings of anything in the iCare range. This cover runs the length of one rail, softening the contact and closing the gaps.

Made from Zerotec waterproof wipeable fabric, so it cleans down in place rather than coming off for a wash.

Where a full-length rail is in place, the person is usually spending real time against it. Padding the whole length makes that far more comfortable.

Cleans in place

Waterproof wipeable fabric means it doesn't have to come off and go through the wash — which matters if the bed is in daily care use.

Order two for a pair

Worth saying plainly: one cover does one rail. If both sides of the bed are railed, add two to the cart.

I bought the pair of rails — how many covers do I need?

Two. The cover is priced and supplied per rail, not per pair.

Does it get in the way of folding the rail down?

It's made for this rail, so it's designed to work with the fold-down action. Check after fitting that the release still operates freely before relying on it.

How do I clean it?

The Zerotec fabric is waterproof and wipeable, so it's designed to be cleaned in place with your usual wipe-down routine.

Does a cover make the rail safe?

It helps, but it doesn't make an unsuitable rail suitable. With full-length rails especially, the rail and mattress combination is what determines entrapment risk — that's what an assessment is for.
