Most people buy one after the first time someone knocks an elbow on the rail in the night. It's a small cost against a lot of comfort.

Cleans in place

Waterproof wipeable fabric means it doesn't have to come off and go through the wash — which matters if the bed is in daily care use.

Which rails does this cover fit?

The iCare Bed Stick and the U-Assist Side Rail — they share a cover size. The Low, High, Extendable and Full Length rails each take a different cover.

How do I clean it?

The Zerotec fabric is waterproof and wipeable, so it's designed to be cleaned in place with your usual wipe-down routine.

Does a cover make the rail safe?

It helps, but it doesn't make an unsuitable rail suitable. Entrapment risk comes mainly from the rail and mattress combination, which is what an assessment looks at. Treat the cover as an improvement, not a fix.

Do I need one or two?

One per rail. If you have a rail on each side of the bed, you need two.

What about the mesh and fabric slip versions?

iCare also make a breathable mesh cover and an upholstered fabric slip that goes over the top for a less clinical look. We don't have current pricing on those — ask us and we'll get it for you.
