FAQs - Your Questions Answered

Will the Extendable Side Rail fit my bed?

Only if you have an iCare homecare bed. It slips into a socket on the iCare bed frame, so it won't attach to a standard divan, slat base or another brand of hospital bed. Send us a photo of your frame if you're not sure.

How long is it?

It locks at two settings — 690mm retracted and 950mm extended.

Can I leave it extended all the time?

Yes. It locks at the extended length, so it's a fixed, stable rail at 950mm if that's what suits.

Is it the same as a full length rail?

No. Even extended it covers part of the bedside, not the whole length, and it doesn't fold down. The Full Length Fold-Down Side Rail runs the length of the mattress platform and drops away for transfers.

Can I get a cover for it?

iCare make padded, mesh and fabric slip covers sized for the Extendable rail. We don't have current pricing on those yet — ask us and we'll get it.
