A curved transfer board bridges the gap between two seated surfaces so a person can slide across, rather than standing and pivoting. It removes the two riskiest moments of a transfer — taking weight through the legs, and turning.

The curve is the point. Position it forward or backward to suit the room, and it follows the arc a body naturally travels through between a bed and a wheelchair, or a wheelchair and a car seat.

Moulded from ABS plastic with a low-friction upper surface for a controlled slide, and a non-slip underside so the board itself stays put during the move.

800 x 210 x 10mm, 150kg safe working load, 1.63kg. Use it between surfaces of similar height — in and out of the car, bed to wheelchair, or across to a chair, toilet, shower chair or commode.

Suits independent or supported transfers. If the person cannot take weight through their arms or hold themselves upright, a hoist is usually the safer answer — ask an occupational therapist if you are not sure.
