What is tilt-in-space and why does it matter?
Tilt-in-space tips the seat and back together while keeping the hip and knee angle fixed. That redistributes pressure without dragging the skin across the seat, which is what causes shear injuries.

How is this different from the Configura Bariatric Rise & Recline?
Both are rated to 254kg with 609, 660 or 711mm seats. The Tilt-in-Space adds a third motor for tilt and has heavy duty castors with directional lock. The Rise & Recline has two motors (leg rest and backrest) and no tilt.

What is the difference between codes 3171-1 and 3172-1?
Seat height only. 3171-1 has a 406mm (16") seat height and 3172-1 has a 457mm (18") seat height.

Which seat width do I need?
Choose from 609, 660 or 711mm. Your occupational therapist will normally measure and specify this. If you are ordering without an OT, send us the seated hip width and we will advise.

How big is the chair overall?
Cubro does not publish overall dimensions for this model. If space or doorway width is a concern, contact us and we will confirm the measurements before you commit.

Can I use my own pressure cushion?
Yes. The chair comes with an integrated memory foam seat cushion that can be swapped for the Comfort air-cell cushion or another pressure care cushion. If your OT has prescribed a particular cushion, tell us and we will include it on the quote.

What happens in a power cut?
A backup battery is fitted, so the chair can still be operated if the power goes out.

What accessories are available?
Lateral supports (code 3160) and the bariatric 50mm seat depth adjustment kit (code 3175). Both are quoted and itemised separately.

Can I get funding for this chair?
Funding depends on the person's circumstances and is usually arranged through an occupational therapist. We are a registered vendor with Enable New Zealand, ACC and MSD/Work and Income. Ask your OT to contact us and we will provide a formal written quote addressed to the funder, with the chair and each accessory itemised.

How is it delivered?
Delivery details and timeframe are confirmed on your written quote. The chair is heavy, so please plan for two people to position it.
