Press the handset and the chair lifts you towards standing, so there is less bend at the knee and less strain on a carer. The leg rest and backrest each have their own motor, so the legs can be raised without tipping back, or the back reclined without lifting the legs.

How is this different from the Configura Comfort?
The Comfort is rated to 160kg with seat widths from 457 to 559mm. The Bariatric Rise & Recline takes up to 254kg with seat widths of 609, 660 or 711mm.

Does this model tilt in space?
No. This model has two motors, one for the leg rest and one for the backrest. If tilt-in-space is needed, look at the Configura Bariatric Tilt-in-Space Chair, which adds a third motor for tilt.

What is the difference between codes 3164 and 3165?
Seat height only. 3164 has a 406mm (16") seat height and 3165 has a 457mm (18") seat height. Everything else is the same.

Which seat width do I need?
Choose from 609, 660 or 711mm. Your occupational therapist will normally measure and specify this. If you are ordering without an OT, send us the seated hip width and we will advise.

Can I use my own pressure cushion?
Yes. The chair comes with an integrated memory foam seat cushion that can be swapped for the Comfort air-cell cushion or another pressure care cushion. If your OT has prescribed a particular cushion, tell us and we will include it on the quote.

Will it fit in the room?
Seated it is 1050mm wide, 800mm deep and 1150mm high. In the rise position it needs 1000mm of depth and 1450mm of height, and fully reclined it is 1700mm long. Allow clearance behind and in front.

What happens in a power cut?
A backup battery is fitted, so the chair can still be operated if the power goes out.

What accessories are available?
Lateral supports (code 3160) and the bariatric 50mm seat depth adjustment kit (code 3175). Both are quoted and itemised separately.

Can I get funding for this chair?
Funding depends on the person's circumstances and is usually arranged through an occupational therapist. We are a registered vendor with Enable New Zealand, ACC and MSD/Work and Income. Ask your OT to contact us and we will provide a formal written quote addressed to the funder, with the chair and each accessory itemised.

How is it delivered?
Delivery details and timeframe are confirmed on your written quote. The chair is heavy, so please plan for two people to position it.
