The Mattress Built For These Beds

The Mediflex is the mattress Cubro pair with the Caro and Casero Duo. Contoured foam that moulds to the body to maximise contact area and redistribute pressure, with deep castellations so it bends properly with a profiling bed.

A low-density heel zone gives extra relief where a uniform mattress gives none — and heels are one of the most common sites for pressure damage.

FAQs - Your Questions Answered

Should I buy this separately or with the bed?

If you are ordering a Caro or Casero Duo at the same time, choose the bundled Mediflex option on the bed listing — it works out cheaper than buying both separately. Buy it here if you already own the bed, or are replacing a worn mattress.

What is a heel zone?

A section of lower-density foam at the foot of the mattress. Heels carry a small contact area and very little natural padding, so they are one of the first places pressure damage appears. Softer foam there lets them sink in rather than press.

What do the castellations do?

The foam is cut into blocks that compress independently, so the mattress conforms both to the person and to the bed as it profiles. On an adjustable bed that matters — a solid slab resists bending and lifts away from the platform.

Is it waterproof?

Yes. The bi-elastic polyurethane cover is breathable, waterproof and antibacterial, with high-frequency welded seams and a concealed zip for infection control. No separate waterproof protector required.

How much weight does it take?

Safe working load is 120kg. Above that, look at the Alera MaxxLine 250 (250kg) instead.

Can I get funding for it?

Possibly. Pressure care mattresses are commonly funded where there is clinical need, arranged through an occupational therapist. We are a registered vendor with Enable New Zealand, ACC and MSD/Work and Income.
