FAQs - Your Questions Answered

How much weight will it actually take?
227kg (500lb). That's the tested safe working load, not a marketing figure — and it's among the highest published capacities available in New Zealand.

What is the Dual Motor Sync System?
Two lift motors work together to raise the chair. Sensors monitor both and realign them if one over-extends, so the lift stays level and smooth under heavier loads. It's what separates a genuine bariatric chair from a standard one with a bigger seat.

Does it recline fully flat?
No. It's a 3-position chair — the back and legrest move together through lifted, reading, relaxing and napping. The legs can't be raised independently of the back.

Will it fit through my door?
The chair is 100cm wide overall, so measure your narrowest doorway and any turns. The fibre-filled back is removable, which usually solves tight access. Allow 48cm behind the chair for it to recline.

What upholstery options are there?
Latte fabric or Burgundy vinyl. Vinyl wipes clean and suits higher-use or care settings; fabric is warmer to sit on. Tell us your preference when you order.

Can I get heat and massage?
It's available as a factory option, not standard. One thing to know before you decide: fitting heat and massage removes the USB charger port from the hand control.

What's included as standard?
Head and arm covers, large dual storage pockets either side, battery backup, high-density REFLEX foam and sinuous-spring seating.

How heavy is the chair itself?
72kg. It needs two people to move, which is why we recommend the two-person delivery and installation option.

What does delivery cost?
Delivery and installation are quoted per order — the price depends on your address and access. We confirm the cost with you before dispatch.

How long does delivery take?
Around 7–10 working days to most North and South Island addresses. Allow an extra 2–3 working days for rural delivery.

Is there a warranty?
2 years parts through Pride NZ, covering the frame, motors, hand control and lift mechanisms. Fabric is excluded. Your Consumer Guarantees Act rights apply on top.

Can I use funding for this chair?
Talk to us — we quote for Enable, ACC, Accessable and WINZ. Get in touch with your reference number and we'll put a compliant quote together.

Does Mobility Plus have a physical store?
No. We're online only and deliver nationwide.
