Built for 300kg

The highest weight rating of any mattress we sell. Where a standard pressure care mattress would bottom out, the M1 holds its structure — which is what keeps pressure care working at all.

Firm edges for transfers

A stable sitting surface at the side of the bed supports bed mobility and transfers, and helps reduce roll-out risk — both harder to manage at higher body weights.

Controlled immersion

Lateral castellated foam redistributes pressure while keeping the surface firm enough to turn and reposition on.

Waterproof and anti-shear as standard

The Zerotec cover wipes clean and includes SlideSkin, a secondary membrane that lets the cover move with the user rather than dragging on skin. On the ActiveX range that protection is an optional extra; here it is built in.

What is the difference between the M-Line and the ActiveX range?

The ActiveX mattresses (IC15, IC20, IC25, IC30) are foam pressure care mattresses with a fabric cover and a waterproof option. The M-Line (M1, M2, M3) comes with a waterproof Zerotec cover and SlideSkin anti-shear built in as standard, and is Crib 5 fire rated — designed with care facilities in mind, but equally usable at home. The M-Line carries a five-year warranty; the ActiveX range carries ten.

How does the M1 compare to the M2 and M3?

M1 is firm, rated Medium Risk, and takes up to 300kg — the bariatric option. M2 is medium feel, High Risk, up to 215kg, with a castellated surface for easier turning. M3 is plush, High Risk, up to 215kg, with ActiveFloat edge-to-edge flotation for fragile skin.

Do I need a separate waterproof cover?

No. The waterproof Zerotec cover is included as standard on the M1, and it wipes clean. You may still want an absorbent bed pad on top for day-to-day convenience.

What is SlideSkin?

A secondary membrane within the cover that allows the top surface to move more freely with the user. It reduces shear — the sideways dragging force on skin that causes damage even when direct pressure is well managed.

Is Medium Risk enough?

It depends entirely on the clinical picture. The M1 is rated Medium Risk while the M2, M3 and the ActiveX range are rated High Risk. If an occupational therapist has assessed high pressure injury risk, ask us before choosing the M1 on weight capacity alone — there may be a better combination.

Can I get funding for it?

Possibly. Bariatric equipment and pressure care mattresses are both commonly funded where there is clinical need. It is arranged through an occupational therapist, who submits the request to Enable New Zealand or Accessable, or to ACC if the need arises from an injury. We are a registered vendor with Enable, ACC and MSD/Work and Income.
