Can I see one before I buy?
We do not keep a Casero Duo on hand, but we do have the Cubro Caro in our Putaruru showroom, which gives you a good feel for Cubro's build and finish. Book a video call and we will walk you around it live and talk you through what the Casero Duo adds. You are also welcome to visit the showroom in person, by appointment.
Do you have a showroom?
Yes — in Putaruru, open by appointment only. We currently have the Cubro Caro and iCare IC333 beds there, along with lift chairs including the Goldfern range, Monarch and VMotion chairs. We also have a separate showroom in Auckland for Pride and Theorem chairs.
Which mattress fits this bed?
The Cubro Mediflex in Single or Super Single. Cubro and iCare use different size names and dimensions, so stay within the Cubro range. Also check the mattress depth against any side rails.
How low is 184mm, really?
It is the distance from the floor to the top of the mattress platform — about 18cm, or roughly the height of a house brick on its end. Most homecare beds sit at 220mm to 250mm.
What is the difference between safe working load and maximum user weight?
Safe working load (250kg) is the total the bed carries — person plus mattress plus rails plus anything else. Maximum user weight (215kg) is the person alone. Both matter, and the mattress counts.
What if I need Double or Queen?
That is the Casero Duo Plus, which comes in Double and Queen and carries a much higher 450kg safe working load. Note it does not go as low — 260mm rather than 184mm — so if falls prevention is the priority, stay with the standard Duo.
Can it be used for a child?
Yes. For clients under 40kg, request the knee brake disabled when you order and we will arrange it with Cubro.
Does it come with a mattress?
Only if you choose the Mediflex option. The Mediflex is a pressure-relieving mattress with a two-way stretch waterproof cover. You can also supply your own — select the no-mattress option.
Will it fit through my doorway?
Yes. The bed is assembled in the room it will be used in. Measure the room instead, and allow for the extended length if you plan to use the extension.
Can I get funding for this bed?
Possibly. Funded equipment is arranged through an occupational therapist, who submits the request to Enable New Zealand or Accessable, or to ACC if the need arises from an injury. We are a registered vendor with Enable, ACC and MSD/Work and Income.
How is it delivered and assembled?
The bed is made to order in New Zealand and arrives ready to assemble in the room. In-home delivery, assembly and packaging removal is available as an optional extra — contact us for a quote for your address and the current lead time before you order.
