Can I see one before I buy?
Yes, two ways. Book a video call and we will walk you around a Caro live — including how the hidden wheels actually look in a room, which is hard to judge from photos. Or visit our Putaruru showroom in person, which is open by appointment.
Do you have a showroom?
Yes — in Putaruru, open by appointment only. We currently have the Cubro Caro and iCare IC333 beds there, along with lift chairs including the Goldfern range, Monarch and VMotion chairs. We also have a separate showroom in Auckland for Pride and Theorem chairs.
Which mattress fits this bed?
A Cubro Super Single — either the Mediflex or the Alera MaxxLine 250. Important: the Caro takes mattresses up to 200mm deep, so the iCare IC25 at 225mm will not suit. Cubro and iCare also use different size names, so stay within the Cubro range.
What size does the Caro come in?
Super Single only. The base is 215cm long by 112cm wide, with a sleeping surface of 198cm by 107cm — the shortest sleeping surface in our range. If you need a Long Single, Double or Queen, or the user is tall, look at the iCare IC333 or IC777, or the Casero Duo which extends to 220cm.
Does it really not look like a hospital bed?
The castors are concealed within the base, which is the detail that gives most care beds away. With a normal duvet on it, it reads as a domestic bed. Book a video call if you want to judge it for yourself — we have one in the showroom.
Which mattress option should I choose?
If there is no pressure injury risk and you already have a mattress up to 200mm deep, choose the no-mattress option. If skin integrity is a concern, the Mediflex is the right starting point. The Alera Maxxline 250 is for heavier users, rated to 250kg. Ask us if you are not sure — we will match it to the clinical need rather than upsell you.
Does it have full Trendelenburg?
Reverse Trendelenburg only, activated from the sitting positions via the handset and a selective locking system. If you need full head-down Trendelenburg, the iCare IC333 or IC777 offer plus or minus 17°.
Can I add side rails?
Yes — optional foldable steel side rails are supplied as a left and right pair, and can be selected as a variant when you order.
Can I get funding for this bed?
Possibly. Funded equipment is arranged through an occupational therapist, who submits the request to Enable New Zealand or Accessable, or to ACC if the need arises from an injury. We are a registered vendor with Enable, ACC and MSD/Work and Income.
How is it delivered and assembled?
The bed is made to order in New Zealand and arrives ready to assemble in the room. In-home delivery, assembly and packaging removal is available as an optional extra — contact us for a quote for your address and the current lead time before you order.
